“I am not interested in creating a ficticious fantasy world, I am more interested in knowing the truth, discovering the real. My work with models is fueled by my interactions with them and my ability to help them to relax and be themsleves. I work with profesional and amateur models but no matter whom I work with, my goal is the same, I want to remove the veil, I want to see the true person in front of my lens.”
Bryon Paul McCartney
Acclaimed American commercial and fine art photographer, Bryon Paul McCartney, returned to the United States in early 2012 after living in Switzerland for over 11 years. Now based in Southwest Florida, McCartney also teaches photography and organizes events and workshops for the Boller Brothers Rental Studios near the Southwest Florida International Airport.
McCartney’s personal work centers on his dance and fine art nude photography. Initially, his work explored the sculptural and dynamic form of the figure in motion, working closely with dancer and Cirque du Soleil performer, Giulia Piolanti. Over time his work has evolved and expanded to explore more personal themes, where he has sought to create sensual and sensitive images of women. These images often explore secret moments and require a personal rapport and trust with the models.
McCartney’s commercial photography focuses on advertising, corporate and editorial assignments that help successful companies communicate about their people, processes and products in both images and films. Recent clients have included Alstom, Chevrolet Europe, Dow Chemical, Sulzer and Thompson Reuters.
McCartney has won several awards for his work, including first place in fine art nudes in the International Photography Awards, and first place in the Prix de la Photographie Paris. McCartney also offers fine art nude photography workshops in the USA and Europe.
