Models for Tuscany Workshops 2011

Apocalyptic Sunshine, 2010, Pienza, Italy. Taken at an abandoned terra cotta factory. Model: Colleen D.

A quick note to let everyone know that my Amore Toscana fine art nude workshops in Tuscany, Italy are nearly sold out. We are now considering adding new dates, so if you are interested in attending, please let us know as soon as possible

I am really excited to have these great models joining us this year:

July 3-9, 2011
Toyin  *Updated 15. Feb 2011*

July 10-16, 2011
Anita de Bauch  *Updated 15. Feb 2011*

As we finalize discussions and confirm other models we will update this listing.
Image Notes:

This image reminds me of the chaos in our daily lives. It was taken rather quickly during my Amore Toscana 2010 fine art nude workshops. I borrowed the model for this quick shot in-between student shooting sessions. The timing was perfect as the sun was setting on the horizon. I feel that her expression helps to underscore the sense of confusion and lost feeling that I wanted in this setting. Her pose gives the impression that she is protectively shielding herself from the invading light. In post-processing, I used a cross-processing technique to give the image an alien color tone.

Model Confirmations for my Tuscany Fine Art Nudes Workshops

I am really pleased to announce that I have confirmed the following models for my Tuscany fine art nude photography workshops in June.

LIGHT, FORM & EXPRESSION  June 20 - June 26

Confirmed Models include:
Iveta Niklova
Colleen Deary

CULTIVATING A UNIQUE STYLE  June 27 - July 3

Confirmed Models include:
Giorgia
Magena Yama
Carole

Some info:

Carole and Giorgia joined us last year. These two Italian ladies are a complete joy to work with. Carole is precocious and flirty, Giorgia is sensual and seductive, and both of them are very experienced nude art models.

Another model I have worked with many times, Iveta Niklova, will join us from the UK. I cannot say enough about Iveta, she is supremely professional, completely natural and absolutely gorgeous.

Colleen Deary, also from the UK, will bring her unique look to Tuscany. I have not yet had the pleasure of working with Colleen, but I have heard so many great things about her that I could not pass up the possibility to include her in this workshop.

Magena Yama is another Italian model. She has more experienced in fine art fetish and bondage modeling, which will help give our second week an added dimension. I am really looking forward to working with her in Tuscany.

So, very briefly, that is our partial lineup of models. As we confirm additional student bookings I will announce more models. There are quite a few model applications waiting for my reply, so if you are interested in joining our workshop, please signup soon.

Tuscany Fine Art Nude Workshops, June 2010

Outtakes from Bryon Paul McCartney’s 2009 Fine Art Nude Workshop in Tuscany

I am very pleased to announce that I will be offering two summer workshops in Tuscany, Italy this year. Following on the very successful workshop in June 2009, I am expanding to include two one-week fine art nude workshops at the il Poggiolo estate in San Quirco d’Orcia. We are happy to be returning to il Poggiolo, our second home, the estate and surrounding areas offer the perfect environment for nude art photography.

Workshop 01

Light, Form & Expression

Building a Foundation in Fine Art Nudes
June 20-June 26, 2010

Workshop 02

Exploring Your Own Style

Defining and Refining Your Fine Art Nude Portfolio
June 27-July 03, 2010

San Quirco is located in southern Tuscany, in the heart of the famed wine region that produces Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montepulciano. The area boasts some of the best known landscapes and views in all of Tuscany, rustic Etruscan cooking, painted sunsets and handmade pici pasta and percorino cheeses. From our home-base at il Poggiolo, we will venture to several locations, including the natural hot springs of Bagni San Filippo, the abandoned terra cotta factory at Pienza and the beaches of Marina d’Albresse, among others.

Each workshop will offer participants ample shooting opportunities with a maximum class size of eight students and one model for every two students. Throughout the week, in addition to workshop instruction, guided exercises and demonstrations, I will work with students individually to provide coaching and feedback. At the end of the week, we will sit together for a final review and discussion about your images and your workshop experience in preparation for assembling your final slideshow for the Friday evening student party.

To request further details, ask questions or to register for this workshop experience, please contact me at info@bryonpaulmccartney.com, or through the ViewFinder Center at +4152 203 30 44 or info@viewfindercenter.com.

Tuscany fine art nudes workshop, June 2009

Herb shooting Giorgia on the beach at Marina del Albarese, Tuscany, Italy

Everyone enjoyed the warm water and sun at the Bagni San Filippo, a unique shooting location in Tuscany, Italy.

Last week, from June 14-20, 2009, I offered my first on-location, fine art nude photography workshop. I have long dreamed of offering a class like this, and the Val d’Orcia, in Tuscany, Italy, offers amazing opportunities for shooting fine art nudes in natural light.

As this was our first on-location workshop, I wanted to ensure that we chose a place that I was familiar with and that we had reliable and talented models. On both of these points, I could not have been more pleased. Our models, Carole, Giorgia, Jadiz and Nia, were absolutely superb, and always insisted on shooting. These ladies worked hard and they even cooked for us. And what can I say about Tuscany, if you have never been there, then you will never know. It is a beautiful, mysterious and magical place. It’s the perfect setting for fine art nudes, in my humble opinion.

Our week started with a group meal on Sunday evening. Monday morning was occupied by portfolio reviews and discussions about how to work with models. Monday afternoon, I took the class through shooting exercises. During the bulk of the week, we organized several trips to local shooting locations in Tuscany, including: Marina Del Albarese on the Mediterranean Coast, Bagni San Filippo a natural hot spring, an abandoned brick factory near Pienza, local Tuscan landscapes naturally, and our home in Tuscany, il Poggiolo, with it’s authentic old word charm and rustic decor.

On Friday, I walked the students through some of my post-processing techniques and answered questions. Students then put together their final selections, and I assembled the slideshows. Later that night, after dinner, we all sat down to watch the final slideshows under the stars, it was really impressive to see everyone’s progress and development from the beginning of the week to the final shows, I was quite proud, in fact.

While I can’t speak for the students, their feedback has been more than generous. I try very hard to teach in an organic way, observing students and stepping in when appropriate to offer my suggestions and answering questions as they come up. By the end of the workshop, I was absolutely exhausted, but in a very good way, or was that the grappa?

We will certainly return to Tuscany for future workshops. I am hoping to organize the next one in late August or September. Stay tuned for details. Oh, and more photos are coming soon.
